The forest-based sector includes all stakeholders with major interests in forestry, forest-based materials and products. It provides essential products and services for a more sustainable society.

The platforms have as primary objectives definition of National Research Agendas for the medium to long-term and the establishment of the necessary, effective public-private partnerships for implementation of these agendas.

National Support Group of the Czech Republic is closely cooperating with European Forest Based Sector Technology Platform as an umbrella organization (http://www.forestplatform.org).
